Transformer जो static device है जो पावर को transmit करता है ट्रान्स्फ़ोर्मर जो design किया जाता है वह variable लोड के लिए उस पे फिक्स लोड नही होता है  एसलिए उसकी रेटिंग KVA मे होती है ओर जो मशीन डिज़ाइन की जाता है  वह फिक्स लोड के लिए ओर वह पावर को consume करती है  एसलिए उसकी रेटिंग KW मे की जाती है

### Why Transformer rated in KVA :-

Transformer मे दो losses होते है copper losses and iron losses जो copper losses होते है वह current ( A )  पर निर्भर करता है ओर iron losses जो voltage ( V ) पर निर्भर करता है तो total losses वॉल्ट-एम्पियर  ( VA) पर निर्भर करते है यह losses  voltage एव धारा  के मध्य phase angle पर निर्भर नही करता है ओर losses का लोड के power factor से कोई सम्बंध नही होता है  एसलिए ट्रान्स्फ़ोर्मर की रेटिंग KVA मे होती है

KW क्या KW= KV*A*PF

Rating of transformer in KVA:-

Transformer is a static device that transmit power high to low voltage and low to high  and transformer not design for fix load because transformer is variable load so transformer is machine it is show tha maximum value of voltage at which the machine is design and current consumption occurs at that voltage and the machine are always rating in KW
But  Transformer and alternator   are only machine which are rated in volt-amp (VA)

Why transformer is rated in KVA :-

The machine which consume power are rated in Kw But the main work of transformer is to transmit the power and not consume the power because the transformer consumes the power regarding losses the copper and iron are the two types losses occur in the transformer the copper loss depends on the current ( AMP)   flow through the winding of the transformer while the iron loss depends on the voltage ( volt) the rating of the transformer is in KVA

What is power factor :-

The power factor simply show the total power consume by the load the machine which are rated in KW are design for the fixed types of load like inductive load are always connected to the inductive machine but here in case of transformer the load is completely  unpredictable and the design the transformer by considering the unity power factor thereby the rating of the transformer is in KVA and not in KW the rating of transformer also expressed in VA ,KVA and MVA depending on size of transformer
